Privacy Policy
The short version: we do not collect anything. This page mostly explains why there is nothing to explain.

What we collect
Nothing. Quiet Pilot has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting service, and no server of ours that the app talks to. We cannot see your recordings, your transcripts, your notes, your prompts, or how you use the app. The app's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected," and its embedded privacy manifest declares no collected data types — both are audited claims, not marketing.
What happens on your device
- Audio is captured only while you are recording, with your explicit microphone permission, and is transcribed on the device by the Whisper speech-recognition model running locally.
- Transcripts and notes are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. They are included in your device backups under the iOS backup settings you control (iCloud or local), like any other app's data.
- AI processing — turning your words into a shaped note — is performed by a language model that runs entirely on the iPhone's own processor. Your text is never sent to a cloud AI service.
- Deleted notes move to Recently Deleted for 30 days, then are removed. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
The only network connections the app makes
Quiet Pilot connects to the network for exactly one purpose: downloading the speech-recognition model, and — if you unlock the Pro model — that model file, one time. These files are fetched from Hugging Face's public model hosting (huggingface.co). A download is an ordinary file transfer — it sends no personal information, no audio, and no content of yours; like any web request, the file host technically receives your IP address in order to deliver the file. After the models are downloaded, the app is fully functional with no network at all — airplane mode changes nothing.
Siri, Shortcuts, and widgets
If you start a recording through Siri or Shortcuts, your spoken command ("start a recording") is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. The recording itself is then captured and processed on-device by Quiet Pilot as described above.
Purchases
Quiet Pilot is free to download. The optional one-time unlock is purchased through Apple's App Store; Apple processes the payment and we never see your payment details. We receive only the anonymous, aggregated sales reporting Apple provides to all developers. There is no account — your purchase is tied to your Apple ID, not to any profile we hold.
Children
Quiet Pilot is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app ever changes what is described here — for example, by adding an optional online feature — we will update this page, note the change in the App Store release notes, and update the App Store privacy label before shipping it. The effective date above always reflects the current policy.
